ABOUT / MARA VOSS
TWELVE YEARSINDEPENDENT.NINETEEN IN THE CRAFT.
I work where strategy, identity, interface, and code overlap. That range lets me see the whole system, then spend the time where a single decision changes how the entire thing feels.
MARA VOSS / COPENHAGEN, 2026
Most projects do not fail on craft. They fail because nobody agreed on what the thing was for.
I started in editorial design, moved into product, and learned to write the code that carries the last twenty percent. The through-line has always been the same: find the one sentence the work is actually making, then remove everything that argues with it.
Today I work independently with founders, creative directors, and small product teams. Engagements usually run six to sixteen weeks, and I stay close enough to the build that the design survives contact with production.
START A PROJECT01HOW I WORK
Four habits thatsurvive every project.
What the work actually looks like once the kickoff call is over and the calendar gets real.
01
START WITH THE ARGUMENT
Before anything is drawn, we agree on the single claim the work has to make.
STRATEGY
02
FEWER, LARGER DECISIONS
Three decisions made properly beat thirty made live in a review call.
DIRECTION
03
BUILD WHAT YOU SHOW
Every screen I present is one I know can be built, because I build it.
CRAFT
04
LEAVE IT MAINTAINABLE
The system, the tokens, and the reasoning behind them ship with the work.
